iOS 14.4.2 Updates Fix Security Gaps For Apple Users

Last Friday, March 26, 2021, Apple released a new update for iPhone, iPad 10.2 Case, and Apple Watch users. This update aims to fix a security flaw in the operating system. Apple released the update to close a gap that could have allowed hackers to install ill-intended code and then access users personal information. The information at risk includes names, email addresses, and other sensitive information.

Google's Project Zero researchers found the newest security problem. This update is the latest of 'security only' software updates Apple has released this year. Apple usually releases software updates for devices every 1-2 months. Different software patches and security fixes release to users as needed from Apple.

"This update provides important security updates and is recommended for all users," Apple stated when the update was released last Friday. Users of the devices need to check that their system has updated to close this potential risk. This is an especially important update to help protect your sensitive information, so double check that your devices are all running on the most recent system.

In addition, if you have a device that can not run on iOS 14, Apple released iOS 12.5.2. This update will address the same security gap for users. Devices that should update to iOS 12.5.2 include: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini Case and iPod touch (6th gen).
